Note:

It seems that Trinity House where Rebecca lived and worked was part of the Trinity House Corporation for Mariners with it’s main base in London.  This organization was provided for the welfare of mariners and their families and Rebecca’s connection with it is most likely explained by the fact that both her husband and father were seamen.  Trinity House in Newcastle is now a museum and you can link to their website here.

Rebecca died in the Cholera epidemic of Newcastle-upon-Tyne of 1853.  A commission was established to investigate the causes of the outbreak details of which can be located here
