Note: Like his father before him George seems to have been
a Gentleman Farmer- and an absent one at that. After the death of his father in 1746
he and his wife Ann move permanently to George was survived by his second wife Mary and
three of his children. His only
remaining son William receives
his ‘wearing apparel’ and also £100 (worth about
£7375 today) to be paid by George the grandson as a condition of his
inheritance of the property in Woughton.
Sadly, William never got to enjoy his inheritance as he passed away
within a month of his father. His
